A North Devon District Hospital radiographer and mammographer the Virgin London Marathon in support of hospital charity Over and Above.

Jessica Budge, 31, said: “I’ve never wanted to run a marathon, but my boyfriend, Paul Bisset, is crazy about running. One day he thought it would be a great idea to enter us both into the London Marathon ... but guess who got in, me not him.

“So to help motivate me in my training I would love to raise some money for the cancer and wellbeing centre appeal.

“This centre is a much needed facility. One of the benefits of the centre will be a relative’s accommodation wing, allowing loved ones to be close by during treatment.”

Fundraising officer Julie Whitton said: “Jess is a fantastic supporter to our charity. Last year she took on the challenge of abseiling 180 foot down the cliffs at Berry, near Hartland, and she also supported her boyfriend Paul when he ran the London marathon in 2016 for our Special Care Baby Unit Appeal.”
