Local people recognised in Queen’s New Year Honours list

MBEs awarded for services to healthcare, higher education and the Royal British Legion.

PEOPLE in North Devon have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

Professor Grace Dorey, a physiotherapist from Barnstaple, was awarded an MBE for services to healthcare.

Other MBE recipients were William Webber, from South Molton, for voluntary service to the Royal British Legion.

Dr Brian Walker, from Bideford, a former director of the University of Winchester Centre of Religions for Reconciliation and Peace was recognised for services to higher education.
