Five trains from Barnstaple to Exeter St Davids were cancelled on Friday morning following disruption caused by Storm Goretti.

The first affected service was the 06.35am train.

The storm, which brought strong winds, heavy rain and snow to the region, caused disruption across the Great Western Railway (GWR) network. Debris and fallen branches were reported on parts of the line, particularly affecting the Okehampton Branchline.

GWR said the railway is now being inspected and cleared.

Trains between Exeter and Barnstaple are now running as advertised.

Services between Exeter and Okehampton are expected to resume from 12pm on Friday (January 9). Passengers are advised to check live updates before travelling, as delays remain possible.
