Drivers face slow traffic and delays in North Devon town after lorry incident

Traffic has been moving slowly in Torrington this morning after a lorry struck scaffolding next to the Torrington Arms pub on New Street.

The incident was first reported at around 08.30am today (2 December), with motorists contacting the Gazette to describe long queues forming through the area.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at 8.35am to the A386 at Torrington after a lorry collided with scaffolding attached to a building. There are no injuries, and scaffolders are making the structure safe.

Officers are directing traffic at the scene while the issue is resolved.

Reports sent in to the Gazette said traffic is slow.
