The first two of 14 affordable homes at a new development in Chivenor have been handed over to North Devon Homes.
The social landlord has confirmed the exchange of contracts for the two houses in the first phase of the Heanton Lea Gardens estate being delivered by Barnstaple-based Chichester Developments.
The first two properties are shared ownership homes, with a further eight social rent properties to be handed over at the end of October and the final four affordable homes scheduled for handover in March.

Paul Scovell, North Devon Homes’ development manager, said: “We are delighted to have secured these properties at Chivenor. Affordable housing is vital for our communities, and we are proud to continue our successful partnership with Chichester Developments in delivering high-quality homes for local people.
“This reflects our continued dedication to providing more affordable homes within our communities. With northern Devon facing a severe shortage of affordable housing, these new homes represent another important step for NDH that will genuinely benefit local families.”
Louise Sharman, director at Chichester Developments, added: “It’s been a pleasure working once again with North Devon Homes on this exciting development at Chivenor.
“This development has been carefully designed to create modern, high-quality, sustainable homes. We are proud of our long-standing partnership and look forward to continuing to deliver more homes together in the future.”

The first two properties handed over are positioned at the entrance to the development, with spacious driveways, EV charging stations and a clean, contemporary design. North Devon Homes says large windows and French doors provide bright, natural living spaces, while modern finishes and underfloor heating ensure comfort throughout.
