Double decker bus and truck stuck fast on A399 into North Devon village

The A399 into Combe Martin is currently blocked after the Exmoor Explorer bus and a delivery truck became wedged together just before midday

A399 bus stuck

The bus and delivery truck were stuck fast on the A399 bend above Combe Martin.

One of the main routes into Combe martin is blocked this lunchtime after an Exmoor Explorer double decker bus and a delivery truck became wedged together on one of the narrow A399 hairpin bends.

Traffic is stationary with many drivers choosing to turn around and find an alternate route following the incident on one of the bends between Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park and the A3123 Long Lane junction.

It is not the first time larger vehicles have become stuck on the bends and it closes one of the main routes into the village and the main tourist route for people traveling to Combe Martin from the North Devon Link Road.

Update 1.30pm: Devon and Cornwall Police said they had attended reports of a two-vehicle collision on the S-bends on the A399 at around 11.45am. There are no reported injuries but the road is blocked. The incident is ongoing.
