People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson is ready to hand of cheques to all the winners.

Five lucky neighbours in a Bideford street have each won £200,000 after sharing the weekly £1million People's Postcode Lottery Millionaire Street prize, it was announced today (Saturday, August 16).

The winning players were all in the EX39 4QJ postcode area.

The Millionaire Street prize also means a string of local charities will benefit from funding awards.

Winning Millionaire Street locations are announced every Saturday. This means that following August’s People's Postcode Lottery draws, the lottery has announced four Millionaire Street winning locations.

Bideford is the second of those. Local charities in each of the four winning areas will share a combined total of £1million to support their work.

The Burton at Bideford has received £40,000 thanks to People's Postcode Lottery players.

Carole Evans, learning and engagement manager, said: “The Burton at Bideford would like to thank all players of Postcode Lottery for enabling us to receive this funding.

“As a charity, support like this is vital to help us continue to run impactful programmes that connect to our community. We believe that all young people in North Devon should have free access to art and creative activities.”

Northern Devon Foodbank has also received £40,000, as has Families in Grief and sea conservation charity Seaful has received £15,000.
