The holidaycottages.co.uk team show their support for the new Sponsor a Nurse appeal from North Devon Hospice.
Businesses are being invited to join the new Sponsor a Nurse campaign launched by North Devon Hospice to help support more local patients in their own homes.
So far, holidaycottages.co.uk and C-Tec South West are the first companies to join the campaign, by pledging £1,500 towards funding a hospice community nurse for a year, with more needed to reach the total.
Businesses can pledge their support via as a company donation, or perhaps hold their own fundraising activities throughout the year to reach the target.

This is the route holidaycottages.co.uk has taken, as Serena Pearce, its regional communities manager, explains: “As long-term supporters of North Devon Hospice, our staff love to get involved in fundraising because it’s a cause close to all our hearts.
“There is barely a family in the area who have not been touched by the hospice’s care.
“So whether it’s a staff quiz night or bake sale in the office, our team get so much out of this partnership and it’s fantastic for morale. We’re delighted to now be joining the ‘Sponsor a Nurse’ campaign because it’s amazing to know exactly how our support will be making a difference.
“We know our sponsored nurse will be caring for real people in real homes every single day and it’s humbling to know the company and our staff have helped in some way.”
Neil Deakin, director of C-Tec South West, agrees: “North Devon Hospice could be caring for someone in your family at any time and it’s likely that one of their community nurses will be the first face you see.
“They do incredible work, which probably goes unseen, but it’s helping thousands of people every year who need that support when they’re facing a life-illness like cancer.
“Please join us and get involved. This is an amount almost all companies could raise throughout the year, but it will mean the world to people being looked after by these hospice nurses.”

Claire Paine, business relationship manager at the hospice, said companies taking part would get a video of thanks from a nurse as well as regular updates throughout the year on how their donation is helping.
She added: “There will be a special reception event at the end of the year where we can come together to celebrate what has been achieved.
“There are a host of other benefits including promotional materials and other ways in which to engage your staff with the cause. So, get in touch today and find out more.”
“We're delighted holidaycottages.co.uk and C-Tec South West are the first to join this initiative. They are valuable partners over a long period of time, who really understand the vital work of our care teams.
“They also know the positive impact this relationship has on their staff too, because it genuinely helps people in this community.”
