Affinity Devon shopping centre near Bideford is marking its 25th anniversary with a major birthday celebration on Sunday, August 3.
Originally launched as Atlantic Village and opened with much ceremony, razzamatazz and with celebrity guest Gail Porter on August 3, 2000, the Clovelly Road outlet on the outskirts of town has become an integral part of North Devon and Torridge.

Over the years, household names like ASDA, M&S Outlet, GAP, Nike, Clarks, Next, and Skechers joined the line-up, while family attractions such as the Atlantis Adventure Park, World of Wonder and Really Wild Planet added unique flair to the experience.

In 2018, a new chapter began as the centre rebranded from Atlantic Village to Affinity Devon, becoming part of a growing network of Affinity Outlets across the UK.
Since then, it has continued to innovate – from becoming dog-friendly in 2023, to winning Gold for Accessible and Inclusive Tourism in 2024, and most recently welcoming PureGym in June 2025.

“We’re proud of how far we’ve come and grateful for the support from our local community, loyal shoppers, and dedicated retailers,” said centre manager Craig Hill.
“This celebration is for everyone who’s been a part of our journey – and we’re only just getting started.”
