Blights Motors in Clovelly Road, Bideford, are this year celebrating 91 years in business.
As part of marking this major milestone the Blight family has recently installed a community defibrillator on the Spar Shop Wall by the Esso Fuel Forecourt.
This has been funded and installed by Blights Motors and supported/part funded by the London Hearts Charity in conjunction with the Department of Health & Social Care.
This potentially life-saving machine is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is registered with the South West Ambulance Trust and other emergency services.
Tim and Nick said: “Blights Motors are really pleased to give something back to our local community. We have many hundreds of customers who visit us every day both for the Shop, Fuel and MG car dealership as well as all the houses located around us. We hope there will not be a need to use it, but it might just save a life one day.”
The chance of survival decreases by 10 percent every minute after a cardiac arrest, which means every second counts.
