With Easter just around the corner, Devon Cider Makers, Sam’s Cider have started their celebrations early with a unique chocolate egg flavour cider. Yes, you read that correctly, a chocolate egg flavour cider.

The team at Sam’s Cider have cracked the formula and combined their ‘True Taste of Devon Cider’, with an infusion of delicious chocolate and a splash of vanilla to create a truly egg-citing Easter treat.

Director, Kylie Beardon is egg-static about the new creation. She said: “In the last year we added a Summer Berry Cider and an Elderflower Cider to our growing Sam’s Cider range and it got us thinking about creating a seasonal Easter cider. When someone suggested a chocolate egg flavour, we thought why not. Our Master Cider Makers got to work and have perfected the recipe for this very different but delicious Easter Cider.”

Sam’s Cider, based in Winkleigh has been the home of Devon Cider for more than 100 years, when Sam Inch pressed his first apples at Western Barn.

In the 1960’s he mentored and trained a 16 year old David Bridgman in the fine art of cider making and David remains the Master Cider Maker in the business he and his family now run, named after their friend and mentor.

“The new chocolate egg cider will be available in store from March 1,’ added Kylie. “It is a limited edition with only 50 of our 5 litre boxes available. It will be first come, first served!”

The new cider can be sampled in store from March 1. More information about Sam’s Cider can be found on their website www.winkleighcider.co.uk.
