Track Santa this Christmas Eve as he makes his way around the globe and heads towards the UK at about 9pm tonight.
Thanks to US defence system NORAD you can use the Santa Tracker right now to watch the man in red’s progress around the world as he makes his way ever closer to Devon – hopefully the blustery conditions won’t put him off course!
NORAD the North American Aerospace Defense Command has been using its multi-billion dollar satellites and high-tech tracking equipment to follow Father Christmas since 1958. Google now also has its own Santa Tracker too.
Typically, Santa starts his journey out in the Pacific Ocean early on Christmas Eve (UK time) and travels west. After visiting the islands around the South Pacific, he delivers presents to the children of New Zealand and Australia.
After that, follow him on the tracker as he travels to Japan, over to the rest of Asia, across to Africa, then onto Western Europe, Canada, the United States, Mexico and Central and South America.
As at 3.30pm today he was – fittingly – one minute out from Christmas Island, an Australian territory south of Jakarta.
We can’t say exactly when his sleigh will be over Devon, but he’s estimated to be above the UK between 9pm and midnight tonight.
