Biking Santas have visited Children’s Hospice South West at Fremington on two consecutive weekends to bring a little extra Christmas cheer to its young charges.

On Saturday, December 2 the organisers of Bideford Bike Show hosted their annual Toy Run to the hospice at Little Bridge House, with bikes and riders decked out in their festive finery.

Then on Saturday, December 9 the annual Santas on a Bike fundraiser saw more than 100 motorcyclists set off from Taunton and make their way through North Devon to the hospice.

A pit stop in South Molton saw a collection for CHSW by employees of Alun Griffith (Contractors) Ltd, which sponsored the stop and staff served out hot drinks and pasties.

Arriving at Little Bridge House, the convoy filled the courtyard with Santas, elves, reindeer and other festive characters.

Emma Perry, head of fundraising at Little Bridge House, paid tribute to both events. She said: “Thank you so much to Bideford Bike Show and Santas on a Bike Devon for bringing the magic of Christmas to Little Bridge House over the past two weekends.

“The families staying at the hospice loved seeing all of the Santas and the amazing gifts and donations were so generous. Thank you also to our South Molton supporters, Lynda Sudlow and the team from Griffiths, who collected donations and arranged the amazing refreshments stop for the bikers. This truly was a community team effort, thank you.”
