Barnstaple grid-locked after Taw Bridge incident

Barnstaple is grid-locked this morning after an incident on Taw Bridge.

The police reported the incident at around 10.51am today (Oct 4) and have closed the A361 both ways on the bridge.

Traffic is queuing along Sticklepath, through Pilton and the Long Bridge as well as the A361 heading towards Braunton.

Police officers are in attendance but it is currently unclear when the road will reopen.

North Devon Today has contacted Devon & Cornwall Police for more information.
