Appledore Book Festival's Poet in Residence, Michael Hunter - Credit: Submitted
This year, for the first time, Appledore Book Festival will have its very own Poet in Residence. Well known as a local poet and naturalist in the area, Michael Hunter, of Heart and Wild Poetry, released his first collection ‘beachcombings’ at last year’s Festival alongside poetry workshops, readings, musings and a well attended spoken word open mic evening.
Michael returns this September with his third collection ‘woodcarvings’, and he will be attending throughout the Festival, pen and notebook in hand, to record his impressions of the comings and goings of writers, artists guests, volunteers and visitors to this beautiful village by the sea.
You will also be able to see Michael in action at several events during the Festival, and purchase signed copies of his illustrated poetry collections, so please check the calendar for information and tickets on the Festival website: www.appledorebookfestival.co.uk
