Proud students and staff at Ilfracombe Academy are celebrating after receiving their outstanding A-Level grades.
Sixth form students at The Ilfracombe Academy have achieved another set of excellent results which reflect the hard work and commitment shown throughout their two years of studying.
The academy is celebrating the high percentage of top grades obtained by students in this year’s sixth form cohort. Within A-level studies 19.4% of grades were awarded at A* or A and on level 3 vocational courses 64% of grades were awarded at Distinction* or Distinction.
A range of subjects saw particular success with students obtaining an average grade of B/vocational merit or higher, including: English, Photography, Biology, Geography, Maths, Physics, Philosophy and Ethics, Business, BTEC Media Studies, BTEC Performing Arts, BTEC Science, BTEC Sport and Cambridge Health and Social Care.
The students are now excitedly looking forward to starting at their chosen universities, apprenticeships and employment at leading organisations.

We are very proud of the next steps all our students will be taking with the vast majority of them gaining their first-choice place at university with others taking up coveted apprenticeships or employment.
“I would like to thank all our students, their families, our staff and our wider school community for their ongoing support and we look forward to seeing our students achieve excellent things in their future.”
