Police are appealing for help as part of an investigation into a burglary at a home in Ashford on the evening of Wednesday, July 26.

Several tools and items were stolen, and police are concerned that they may now be offered for sale locally.

Detected Sergeant Cartwright, of Barnstaple CID, said: “We are asking members of the community with concerns to contact us. Several tools and items have been stolen that may soon be offered up for sale in bulk as is unfortunately common with residential burglaries. The tools are all of the STIHL brand – a cut off saw, chainsaw, strimmer, pole hedge cutter, 2 x batteries and 1 x charger; there is also a Dell laptop, a Panasonic compact camera and charger, a Nexus mobile phone charger, and three rucksacks – 2 x Berghaus and 1 x Karrimor.

“These may be offered for sale all together, or in pieces. I would ask members of our local community that if they have been approached regarding the sale of such items, or see an advert and are concerned, that they contact us via the Force website or telephone 101, quoting crime reference 50230218230.”

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers via their website or by calling 0800 555 111.
