Devon artist Kelly Stevens-McLaughlan, is opening up her home studio to the public throughout September.

Kelly, from Merton, is widely recognised for her quirky animal paintings, cushions and lampshades – which adorn the walls and furniture of hotels and homes worldwide.

Now for the first time she is opening the doors to her life and her art as part of the Devon Open Studio initiative.

Visitors will be able to see Kelly’s charming and fabulously quirky animal focused prints, original paintings as well as cushions and lampshades created for her FabFunky brand.

They will also be able to experience her studio – which is situated within a turret at her equally quirky Merton home.

Kelly said: “The Devon Open Studio 2023 is a fantastic opportunity for artists to demonstrate and showcase their work in their creative spaces.

“I am looking forward to it immensely.”

Local people and visitors to the county will be able to see a range of art and craft including glass art, painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, prints, ceramics, and furniture.

Devon Open Studios is the annual flagship event of Devon Artist Network.

A spokesperson for the Network said: “This year’s Devon Open Studios features more artists than ever, demonstrating and showcasing their work in attics, sheds, galleries and gardens and other creative spaces, including some of Devon’s most beautiful locations.

“Visitors are encouraged to support local artists and makers by buying their work – whether it’s a large sculpture or a small greetings card – or even by simply helping to spread the word on social media.

“Local people and visitors to the county will be able to enjoy a range of free exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, opportunities to see artists at work, and to celebrate the range of talent across the county.

“The art and craft on display will include drawing, painting, sculpture, tapestry, ceramics, jewellery and glasswork. Artists range from new talent to experienced professionals, all keen to share their inspiration and creativity with visitors.”
