After their General Election disappointment, there was at least some good news for the Liberal Democrats in the Barnstaple Town Council vote.
Lib Dem candidates claimed all but three of the 24 seats on the council, with many being re-elected.
The only candidates from other parties to find their way onto the council were elected in Newport, where Matt Chamings (Green), Martin Kennaugh and Chris Perkins-Beard (both Cons) got in.
