The Wild West is coming to Littleham on Saturday courtesy of a local darts team that always hits the bulls eye when it comes to top scoring charity events. The Bideford & District League second division team, who take pride of place on the oche at the Crealock Arms, is holding a Western hoedown at the pub from 7pm with all the proceeds going towards new equipment for North Devons new chemotherapy unit. The team has organised a host of live entertainment featuring professional country singer Roger Colome, and a guest appearance by Littlehams own boy band The Howlers. Therell be a chuck wagon, tepees, hay bales and even a horse. Cowboys and cowgirls will be able to chow down on a cow pie and chilli bean supper. Its the latest fundraiser organised by Owen Pryor and his fellow Ricochets team mates, who have raised more than £15,000 for cancer charities during the last four years. It all began in January 2011 when the team shaved their hair in support of Owen, 74, who was receiving chemotherapy treatment himself at the time. They have since completed a 26-mile bed push, held a 1940s night and a 24-hour darts marathon. Last year, they dressed as the cast of Only Fools and Horses and pushed a bright yellow Reliant Robin through Bideford. Owen, who also volunteers at the chemotherapy unit at North Devon District Hospital, said: Every year we organise a couple of events for local charities with Rick and Clare at the Crealock. It should be a great evening so please come down and show your support therell be a prize for the best fancy dress.Tickets cost £10 and are available from the Crealock Arms on 01237 477065.
