A man has died following a serious collision on the North Devon Link Road this morning (Friday).

Emergency services were called to the A361 at Stoodleigh at around 3.15am after a lorry and a car collided.

The car driver, a man in his 20s, has died as a result of the collision.

Police said his next of kin have been informed, but formal identification has yet to take place. The lorry driver was uninjured.

The A361 is still currently closed between Bolham Roundabout and Stoneham Cross whilst emergency services work at the scene and a recovery is in place.

Police say the road is likely to be closed for some time and road users should avoid using the road, or look for an alternative route.

They are also appealing for information and witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police by emailing 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 and quoting log 68 of May 11.
