Stunning lightning displays lit up the skies over many parts of North Devon on Saturday night.

As thunderstorms moved through, most areas reported seeing the pyrotechnic displays that ran from late evening into the early hours.

No damage has been reported following the storm, but there are plenty of great pictures taken by those who wanted to get out there and experience the raw power of nature have been posted on the A Place in North Devon Facebook page.

Andy Davey of Andy Davey Photography who also runs the Beautiful Devon website (www.beautifuldevon.co.uk) took these stunning pictures of the ‘haunted house’ at Westward Ho! with lightning overhead.

Laurence Liddy posted an amazing shot on Instagram of storms over the North Devon Link Road.
