Annual Ilfracombe festivities kick off tonight (Wednesday).

DON’T forget Ilfracombe’s Lighting of the Lights tonight (Wednesday).

Revellers will gather at ‘the square’ by the war memorial from around 6.30pm, with a lantern lit procession of schoolchildren arriving at 6.45pm and the big switch on at 7pm.

This year members of the Queen’s Theatre panto cast will be doing the honours and then it’s off to the High Street for late night shopping, entertainment and a sneak early peek at the new Dotto land train.

* On Sunday (December 1) the harbour celebrates its own lights switch on, with a Christmas Fair at Pip and Jim’s Hall from 1-5pm, music from Tarka Pipe band and over at Fore Street there is a Christmas Craft Fair plus carols from 3-9pm.
