Lifeboat shout to rescue windsurfer

A crew from Appledore Lifeboat Station came to the aid of a windsurfer in trouble yesterday morning (Mon).

A LIFEBOAT was launched yesterday morning (Mon) to help a troubled windsurfer in the estuary.

The windsurfer was struggling to get back to shore after the wind had dropped and he battled against the outgoing tide.

Appledore Lifeboat Station launched a lifeboat after they were paged by Westward Ho! coastguard at around 8.10am.

The crew brought the windsurfer to shore and the coastguard advised him not to windsurf in offshore winds and out-going tides without checking the weather forecast.
