Kelly Gliddon nee Sussex from Torrington sustained fatal injuries in the three-vehicle collision at Little America on Thursday, May 9. She was declared dead at the scene. Emergency services were called at around 2.50pm after the Vauxhall Astra which Kelly was a passenger in, a BMW420D and a Citroen Dispatch van collided. Kelly's family have paid tribute to the mother of two. They said: "Kelly Gliddon nee Sussex was a devoted mother to two boys Charlie and Shay, beloved daughter to Mike and Diane and sister to Lynsey; sadly she has been taken from us." A number of floral tributes paying tribute to Kelly have been placed at the scene at Little America. One tribute read: "Kelly, Heaven has gained another angel way too soon. You were a wonderful friend to us and gave a hug like no other. Fly high angel, RIP beautiful lady." Another said: "RIP my dearest best friend Kelly. I will miss you and our laughs." Another roadside tribute said: "Kelly, I can't believe this has happened, it just doesn't feel real." Four other people were injured in the collision and were taken to North Devon District Hospital. A 29-year-old man believed to be an occupant of the Vauxhall was arrested on suspiciion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries. Police continue to investigate the collision, with officers working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. A 36-year-old man from Torrington - sustained serious pelvic and leg injuries. The driver and one of the passengers of the BMW - both in their 60s from the Swindon area - had minor injuries. A third person in the BMW - an 80-year-old woman from Exbourne - sustained a serious wrist injury.
