NORTH Devon Councillors are expected to give the green light for a new Tesco supermarket in Barnstaple tomorrow (Wednesday).
If approved, the proposed store would be built on the site of the existing Brian Ford's supermarket at Seven Brethren, subject to a maximum 31,000 Section 106 open spaces contribution by Tesco.
A final decision on the application by the supermarket giant was deferred in December pending changes to the design and layout, a floor space retail assessment, and recommendations by the Environment Agency.
The 8,858-square-metre super store, complete with petrol station, 497 car parking spaces and new road link is being recommended for approval by planning officers.
