Police are appealing for information from anyone who might have been offered the stolen items of jewellery today (Thursday).

An elderly woman fell victim to a burglary today when items of sentimental jewellery and cash was stolen from her home in East-the-Water this morning (Thursday).

Police are appealing to anyone - particularly jewellery shops in the Bideford area - who might have been offered any items of jewellery.

The burglary happened between 9.45am and 11.50am and it is thought the jewellery taken from her house belonged to the lady’s late sister and husband.

A range of jewellery, including necklaces, earrings and watches, was taken, to a value of around £3,000.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious, or has been offered any items of jewellery to purchase, is asked to contact police on non-emergency number 101 quoting log 270 of January 8.
