Fresh from Rio 2016, two time gold medallist happy to mingle at local attraction
Double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell OBE and his family delighted staff when they dropped in at Barnstaple’s Air Extreme.
Fresh from Rio, the rowing star was happy to pose for pictures on Monday as he and his wife Beverley Turner with children Croyde, Kiki and Trixie enjoyed an hour at the trampoline park.
Although James didn’t jump himself, the unwritten park rule is every Olympian gets a free pair of Air Extreme socks and manager Chris Milton was delighted to deliver them.
“He loved that and put them on,” said Chris.
“He said he had been to Rio and just come back, so he was chillaxing and getting some family time.”
The family have a home at Croyde and James’ has been a regular fixture on BBC television while commentating on the Olympics.
Park director Amelia Isaac said they were a lovely family and had been very sociable.
She added: “His wife commented that they have trampoline parks in London, but our park was very safe and she could not believe it was not a national franchise.”
