There’s plenty going on in Barnstaple this half-term...
Some well-known characters will be heading to Barnstaple next week for some half-term fun.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Minions, Iron Man and Spiderman will all be making appearances in the town centre and Barnstaple Pannier Market on Tuesday, May 30.
There will also be free face painting in the market between 10.30am and 3pm.
Barnstaple town centre manager Hannah Harrington said: “Half-term is the perfect time to bring the family into town to enjoy some fun activities, do some shopping and have a bite to eat in one of our wonderful cafes or restaurants.”
On Bank Holiday Monday, children are invited to ‘stick their necks out’ at Green Lanes Shopping Centre with a special creative workshop.
Between 11am and 4pm, young craft workers can colour and decorate a tie, with the most popular design winning a hamper of craft materials.
Green Lanes manager Gary Burrows said: “We have some very creative children in Barnstaple as witnessed recently with our Easter craft workshops, and look forward to seeing a wide section of tie designs in our album on the Facebook page.”
The half-term activities continue throughout the week, with a special Myths and Legends workshop at Barnstaple Guildhall on Thursday, June 1 delivered by The Plough Arts Centre.
Over at Barnstaple Library, children can time travel to ancient Rome with local children’s author Olli Tooley where they can find out what life was like in ancient Rome, and make a mosaic to take home.
