Council hopes to announce new town centre manager within next couple of weeks

Applicants were being interviewed for the vacant Barnstaple town centre manager (TCM) role yesterday (Tuesday).

Employer North Devon Council said it hoped to fill the £35,000-a-year job - which also includes responsibility for Barnstaple Pannier Market and CCTV operation - within the next couple of weeks.

Economic development manager Ellen Vernon said there had been 'a healthy number of internal and external applicants'.

Former town centre manager Craig Bulley stepped down from the role last month after being in the job for the past 10 years.
