The main parties of Conservative, Liberal Democrat, Labour, Green and UKIP are well represented, with a candidate standing in almost all of the wards.

There are few independents this time, with only two standing for North Devon seats and only one independent listed for Torridge. Two Torridge candidates have not put a description with their nomination.

Devon County Council has reminded people to make sure they are registered to vote and the Electoral Commission has launched a national voter registration campaign to encourage as many people as possible to register.
