Bench on Instow beach will remember Barley the golden retriever.
A lasting tribute has been left to a dog who was ‘well loved by everyone’ on Instow seafront.
Golden retriever Barley died in April, and in his memory owner Theresa Rose, from East-the-Water, has had a bench placed at Barley’s favourite spot.
She said: “Barley loved walking on the beach; everyone adored him.
“He was diagnosed with cancer in January and only had until April.
“Barley was just loved by so many people and he was very special to me; it’s been very difficult.”
Theresa has had a plaque made for the bench, which she visits with her other golden retriever Ella.
She added: “I wanted him to be remembered by the people he met since we moved to Bideford two years ago and felt that a bench in his memory overlooking his favourite walk was the only way forward.”
