A concert is being held in Chittlehampton on Friday of next week to raise money for the church roof fund.The admission price is £10 to include supper, but only £7 if you just want to listen to the music.Villagers still have £12,000 to raise to pay for extensive repairs to the church roof costing just under £144,000.The work has included re-slating, repairs to lead work and the pinnacle of the south transept and south aisle.The frieze along the south aisle has also been conserved and repairs made to plasterwork and decorations.Next Friday's concert will feature Blue Zoots with Mike Court on acoustic and steel guitars, Clive Robins on acoustic and bass guitars and Pete Newell on harmonica, guitar and washboard.Supporting them will be 14-year-old local singer-song writer Ellie, who has been composing for two years. She is a Christian and involved musically with the church and youth groups.Others appearing are Dave Smith, also a singer-song writer who hails from Liverpool, and singer Keith Somerville.
