The road was closed for more than seven hours after fatal collision on A361 near Braunton yesterday (Friday) as family pays tributes to woman with ‘heart of gold’.

A 26-year-old woman from Ilfracombe has died following a collision on the A361 at Knowle yesterday.

The woman, named locally as Natalie Jones, from Ilfracombe, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her sister Kayleigh Porter led tributes to Natalie, describing her as having a 'heart of gold'.

In a statement on behalf of the family she said: "She was best daughter, sister and friend ever. with a heart of gold and none of our lives will be the same again.

"She made our life better just knowing her. She brought a smile to everyone she met.

"She will be missed dearly but always loved. may she rest in peace and shine bright."

Police were called at 5.40pm yesterday (Friday) after reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a grey BMW and a green Toyota Yaris between Braunton and Mullacott.

Natalie was a front seat passenger in one of the vehicles. Her next of kin have been informed.

The two drivers were both taken to North Devon District Hospital for their injuries.

The road was closed for around seven-and-a-half hours while collision investigators were at the scene.
