Hundreds of cruise ship passengers will be able to enjoy a food and morris dancing festival in Ilfracombe tomorrow (Saturday). The return of the cruise liner MS Prinsendam coincides with an action packed weekend in the town, with the quirky All Things Morris weekend which starts tonight, and the Marsdens North Devon Street Food Awards tomorrow. The ship is expected to arrive by 8am at the latest, with the first passengers embarking on the pier at 8.15am. From 12noon to 5pm the seafront will be packed with vendors offering foods from every corner of the globe and something to suit every taste bud. A panel of judges, including the Gazettes Matt Smart, will be ploughing through a host of delicacies throughout the afternoon before giving their verdict. The winners will receive one of the coveted Maurices trophies supplied by Shoreline Glass and sponsored by Marsdens Devon Cottages. It is our absolute pleasure to sponsor this popular event again. At Marsdens, we are always keen to support local community events wherever possible said Gloria OConnell, business development manager at Marsdens Devon Cottages.
