The funeral of an Ilfracombe Salvation Army stalwart who served the charity her whole life is being held on Thursday. The service for Doris Stevens-Munn, who was 93, will be held at the Salvation Army Hall in Torrs Park Road at 11am, followed by a 12.20pm service at North Devon Crematorium. Mrs Stevens-Munn had volunteered with the local SA for some 40 years, though held no formal rank. Before that she was at the Salvation Army in Brighton. Major Margaret Slater said she was well-known and loved by everybody in the town and had served as the pianist, but would do anything asked of her.
