Ilfracombe play park plans get the green light

New cross-generational facility to be built at Oxford Park

PLANS for a new community park for Ilfracombe adults and children have been given full planning approval by North Devon Council.

The new facility at Oxford Park will feature play equipment for youngsters as well a range of outdoor fitness equipment for older members of the community.

Among the items of equipment being installed are a dip bar, air walker, chest press, twister, see-saw, nest swing and quad flyer. Picnic tables and benches with disabled access will also be introduced at the strip of land, off Highfield Road.

A statement by applicant Ilfracombe Town Council said the plans will transform the park into a “flexible community space/park housing multi-functional and multi-generational equipment.”
