The money will be spent sprucing up areas of Ilfracombe.
Ilfracombe based Old Gits Club has been given a £1,000 boost to spruce up the town.
The group is the latest recipients of the RGB Well Built Community Fund.
The group was founded last year to help utilise the expertises and energy of the older generation who have time and want to do something constructive.
The club is revamping the town by repainting bollards, waste bins and bus stops.
Rodney Donovan, club founder, said: “I formed the Old Gits Club about a year ago as many retired folk are finding that they have time on their hands and some have lost many of their friends since leaving work.
“The club has given members a social activity and the chance of meeting new friends, and making our area look more appealing.”
The club played a major role in the renovation of the Lantern centre and will use the money on these projects.
Dave Gussin, site manager at RGB Ilfracombe, said: “We’re extremely proud to be supporting the Old Gits Club; they really sum up what our Community Fund is all about.”
