Ilfracombe electronics manufacturer TDK-Lambda UK is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the town. Production began in Ilfracombe in 1966 as Coutant Electronics Ltd today, as a division of TDK-Lambda the site employs more than 300 staff and produces more than 200,000 power supplies a year. Managing director Adam Rawicz hailed the company as a world leader and said he was very positive about its future in North Devon. To celebrate its birthday, the company recently held a 50th bash for staff on the rugby ground at Brimlands, complete with teepees.
