A motorist whose car crashed at Two Pots near Ilfracombe has praised the kindness of passersby who came to his aid.

Graham Boote from Brixham was left hanging upside down in his overturned blue Mazda hatchback after the smash on Thursday just before 4pm.

He contacted the North Devon Gazette to say: “May I thank the two ladies who helped me when I crashed at Two Pots. One used her skills as an ex-traffic warden to direct the traffic; the other comforted me the whole time, until the police arrived. I am just deeply thankful to both of them.”

Mr Boote was uninjured in the crash, which was also attended by two fire engines from Ilfracombe.
