Ilfracombe charity match for Gary

Fire fighters vs Ilfracombe Town this Saturday (May 11), 2pm at Marlborough Park.

FIRE FIGHTERS from Ilfracombe will be taking part in a charity football match for brain tumour sufferer and ex-fire fighter Gary Marshall at Ilfracombe Town Football Club tomorrow (Saturday) with kick-off at 2pm.

The crews at Ilfracombe recently heard of the plight of Gary, who served as a fire fighter in Lancashire.

In January of this year he was diagnosed as having an aggressive form of brain tumour and was told that he had six to 12 months to live. His family are desperately trying to raise enough money to send him to a clinic in Texas for alternative treatment not available on the NHS.
