Ilfracombe Academy students will be able to try out their brand new sports hall when they return after the Easter holidays.

The keys to the new sports centre and sixth form centre have been handed back as the school’s £19million rebuild continues on time.

The new school building is also up, with contractor BAM Construction now working on fitting it out inside, ready for completion in the spring of 2018.

The only major construction work left is the new school hall, whose framework is now in place and when finished it will have a capacity for 800 people.
