Hundreds donated to village volunteers

The annual civic service in Braunton raised more than �250 for one local cause.

AN ANNUAL civic service held in Braunton has raised more than �250 for a local volunteer group.

Braunton Parish Council donated the proceeds from the collection to a nominated charity and this year gave �256 to the Braunton Volunteers.

Chairman of the council, Cllr Liz Spear, said: “They do a wonderful job in the village and surrounding areas.

“They are a superb group of longstanding volunteers helping the local community - volunteer work at its very best.”
