Liberal Democrats win most seats in North Devon and Torridge

The count has now concluded for the 2025 local elections, with voters across North Devon and parts of Torridge electing 13 councillors to Devon County Council.

The Liberal Democrats have won the most seats in the area, taking six divisions.

Reform UK made a strong showing, securing four seats.

The Conservatives were elected in two divisions, while the Green Party picked up one seat in Ilfracombe.

Labour did not win any seats.

Elected councillors by division:

  • Barnstaple North – Syed Jusef (Liberal Democrats)
  • Barnstaple South – Caroline Frances Herringham (Liberal Democrats)
  • Braunton Rural – Graham Matthew Bell (Liberal Democrats)
  • Chulmleigh and Landkey – Ed Tyldesley (Liberal Democrats)
  • Fremington Rural – Frank Lindsay Biederman (Liberal Democrats)
  • Torrington Rural – Cheryl Lavinia Cottle-Hunkin (Liberal Democrats)
  • South Molton – Richard Leonard Alan Hopley (Reform UK)
  • Bideford East – Mark Andrew Barry (Reform UK)
  • Bideford West and Hartland – Robin Julian (Reform UK)
  • Holsworthy Rural – Lynne Phyllis Rowsell (Reform UK)
  • Northam – Dermot McGeough (Conservative Party)
  • Combe Martin Rural – Andrea Vivienne Davis (Conservative Party)
  • Ilfracombe – Sara Jane Wilson (Green Party)
