LIVE: Devon County Council Election 2025 – North Devon results

The Liberal Democrats have emerged with the most seats in North Devon and Torridge, winning six of the 13 divisions. Reform UK performed strongly, securing four seats.

The Conservatives won two, and the Green Party picked up one in Ilfracombe.

Labour did not win any seats in the area.

The council is made up of 60 councillors across 58 electoral divisions. In North Devon and parts of Torridge, the following 13 divisions are being contested:

  • Bideford West and Hartland - declared 

  • Holsworthy Rural - declared 

  • Northam - declared 

  • Torrington Rural - declared 

  • Barnstaple North - declared 

  • Barnstaple South - declared 

  • Braunton Rural - declared

  • Fremington Rural - declared 

  • Ilfracombe - declared 

  • South Molton - declared

  • Richard Leonard Alan Hopley (Reform UK) – 1,298 votes (Elected)

  • Paul John Henderson (Conservative Party) – 1,263 votes

  • David John Worden (Liberal Democrats) – 1,142 votes

  • Gill Saunders (Green Party) – 249 votes

  • Steven William Hinchliffe (Labour Party) – 215 votes

12.50pm: Bideford East results in: 

  • Mark Andrew Barry (Reform UK) – 1,117 votes (Elected)

  • Linda Joan Hellyer (Conservative Party) – 637 votes

  • Huw Thomas (Green Party) – 620 votes

  • Rachel Anne Clarke (Liberal Democrats) – 559 votes

  • Zoe Moore (Labour Party) – 183 votes

12.49pm: Torrington Rural results in:

  • Cheryl Lavinia Cottle-Hunkin (Liberal Democrats) – 2,228 votes (Elected)

  • Liana Raye Alexander (Reform UK) – 1,222 votes

  • Thomas John Elliott (Conservative Party) – 1,023 votes

  • Colin Jones (Green Party) – 189 votes

  • Deborah Charlotte Darling (Labour and Co-operative Party) – 107 votes

12.47pm: Northam results in:

  • Dermot McGeough (Conservative Party) – 1,500 votes (Elected)

  • Derek Sargent (Reform UK) – 1,069 votes

  • Kerry Samantha O’Rourke (Liberal Democrats) – 819 votes

  • Keith Funnell (Green Party) – 275 votes

  • Emma Louise Robbins (Labour Party) – 200 votes

  • Andrea Vivienne Davis (Conservative Party) – 1,365 votes (Elected)

12.06pm - Barnstaple South results in

The results for Barnstaple South are now in, and the successful candidate is Caroline Frances Herringham from the Liberal Democrats, securing 1,348 votes. Here's the full breakdown of the votes in order:

  • Anthony John Payne (Reform UK) – 846 votes
  • David William Hoare (Conservative Party) – 633 votes
