Bideford College has unveiled its newly upgraded 3G pitch, which is now available for community hire.
The pitch, part of the college’s facilities, has undergone significant improvements by the Athena Estates team.
It is now officially registered with the Football Association (FA) and has been added to the 2024/25 FA 3G Pitch Register.
The FA 3G Pitch Register includes FIFA and FA-standard facilities that are suitable for affiliated football across England.
The aim of the register is to ensure pitches meet necessary quality standards and provide a safe, high-quality environment for players.
The upgraded pitch, which is in high demand, offers three options for hire: 11-a-side, 9-a-side, and 5-a-side.
It is available for use by local clubs and organisations across Bideford and the surrounding area.
Dr Claire Ankers, Principal at Bideford College and Atlantic Academy, said: “We are thrilled with the completion of the upgrade to our 3G pitch. This is a fantastic achievement for the college, and it means our students and the wider community now have access to a top-tier sports facility that meets the highest standards.”
The facility is expected to benefit both students and the local community, providing a high-quality sports venue for a range of activities.
