Sign up now open for Barnstaple 10k

Registration is now open for the Care for Kids Barnstaple 10k, which will take place on Sunday 8 June. 

The annual event, hosted by Care for Kids North Devon, offers an opportunity for local runners to support a vital cause while taking part in a friendly, accessible race.

The 10k route, starting and finishing at Barnstaple Rugby Club, is known for its largely flat terrain, making it an ideal race for both beginners and experienced runners looking to achieve personal bests.

Early bird entries are available until Friday 14 February 2025, with discounted fees of £22 for affiliated runners and £24 for unaffiliated participants.

All finishers will receive a medal and a commemorative t-shirt, with prizes awarded to the fastest runners in each age category. 

The event is supported by headline sponsor Brewer, Harding & Rowe Solicitors and primary sponsors Leo Workwear and Advanced Pallet Systems. 

Care for Kids is also inviting local businesses to sponsor the event.

Jacky Massos, Charity Manager at Care for Kids North Devon, commented on the race's appeal: “Our Barnstaple 10K is always a really fun event, popular with both seasoned runners and beginners because it’s a mostly flat course. It’s also a charity event, so all your entry fee is being spent to help local families in need in North Devon. Get in quick if you want to take advantage of our early bird offer. We also need volunteers and more sponsors, so if you’d like to do something amazing for our small charity, please get in touch.”

Proceeds from the race will benefit Care for Kids North Devon, a charity that provides immediate financial assistance to families of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. 

The charity also funds improvements to the children’s ward at North Devon District Hospital.
