A wave of community support is sweeping across North Devon as 37 local businesses have joined forces to celebrate the 40th anniversary of North Devon Hospice.

These companies have come together as part of the hospice’s “40 for Forty Business Club,” a special initiative aimed at raising much-needed funds to support patients and families facing cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

Since the initiative's launch at the beginning of the year, the businesses involved have collectively raised over £13,860.

This total has been achieved through a combination of one-off donations and a wide array of creative events and activities, with even more fundraising efforts planned in the months ahead.

Claire Paine, Business Relationship Manager at North Devon Hospice said this initiative had been “an amazing few months,” with the businesses supporting the hospice through a wide range of mediums including generous donations to bake sales, raffles, fancy dress days and fitness challenges to name a few.

She explained: “We have a growing number of events in the pipeline including a 12-hour prowler, a 100km run along the Tarka Trail, quizzes, two charity cycles (100 miles and 40 miles), and a raffle to win a stay in an exclusive holiday cottage.”

The 40 for Forty Business Club is just one of the many ways the hospice is marking its 40th anniversary.

The hospice explained that as demand for hospice care continues to rise, the funds raised through this initiative will play a crucial role in ensuring that North Devon Hospice can continue to provide essential care to those in need.

“When someone is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness like cancer, the world will never be the same for them or their loved ones,” added Claire. “But having the support of our amazing Business Club members will mean we can continue to scoop up the people of North Devon and offer the care and support they need, time after time. Thank you so much to all those taking part.”

Some of the local businesses that have joined the 40 for Forty Business Club include Bray Leino, Johns of Instow, Kairos Construction, SWM & Waste Recycling, C-Tec South West Ltd, G4 Gym, Atlas Packaging, Private Collection, Blueberry & Co, Barnstaple Plumbase, North Devon Removals and Storage Ltd, Blakewell Services Ltd, Turnstyle Designs, Slee Blackwell Solicitors, Whitemoor Farm Weddings Camping & Glamping, Azets, Brewer Harding and Rowe, Vitaliqi Holistic Health Clinic, Tuckers Legal & Financial Services, Winston James Construction Ltd, Zero 7, Wimpy Barnstaple, Kit Heath, North Devon Accounts, Seth Conway TV, SeaShore Cottages, Boden Group, Peachy Fitness, Aysha George Training & Fitness, Reform Fitness, TDK Lambda UK, North Devon Hog Roast, LS Building Supplies, and Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

With only a few spots left in the 40 for Forty Business Club, businesses eager to contribute to this meaningful cause can still get involved.
