Woolacombe Beach has once again secured an 'excellent' rating for its water quality, continuing a streak that dates back to 2021.

The beach, renowned for its expansive sandy shores and scenic sand dunes, has consistently proven itself as a top destination for beachgoers seeking pristine waters.

The Environment Agency, tasked with monitoring water quality across various coastal areas, will be conducting weekly assessments at Woolacombe Beach from May 1 to September 30 this year for its 2024 outcome.

These assessments involve measuring bacteria levels, which serve as indicators of potential pollution.

Despite fluctuations in water quality in some nearby coastal areas, Woolacombe Beach has retained its cleanliness and safety for recreational activities such as swimming.

While Woolacombe Beach has proven its water quality, not all coastal areas have fared as well.

Nearby Croyde Beach, for instance, struggled with a 'good' rating during 2020 and 2021. However, authorities have taken note of these issues and are implementing measures to address them, ensuring that Croyde Beach aligns with the 'excellent' standards set by its neighbouring beaches.
