The choir have raised £933.00 for Harbour, a local charity

The Appledore Singers, a local ladies’ choir, continued their annual tradition by hosting a 'Charity Christmas Concert' on December 10 at Northam Hall.

Founded in 1985, the choir has consistently used their festive musical extravaganza to raise funds for various local charities, and 2023's chosen beneficiary was the local charity, Harbour, operating out of Bideford.

Harbour, as described on its website, focuses on promoting social inclusion for the public benefit in the Bideford area of Torridge. Their mission is to alleviate the needs of socially excluded individuals and help them integrate into society - a cause that resonated strongly with the Appledore Singers, especially in the context of current circumstances.

The concert, attended by a delighted and packed audience, featured a repertoire of joyous festive music that captured the essence of the season. The performance not only brought holiday cheer but also contributed significantly to the choir's ongoing tradition of supporting local charities.

Following the successful event, the choir's Treasurer crunched the numbers, revealing a remarkable £933 profit. Demonstrating their unwavering commitment to community welfare, the Appledore Singers promptly directed this profit towards Harbour.

The local ladies' choir expressed their gratitude to the community for the overwhelming support, and have emphasised the collective effort that allowed them to contribute to the commendable work of Harbour.
